Lake Tahoe!
The drive to Modesto is never a fun one. Never. It's long, boring and the views are just gross. Harsh, but true. However, this past weekend while driving down to make the move back to California, my mom and I decided to stop in Lake Tahoe for a little adventure. Oh my gosh! It's spectacular. The view is absolutely breathtaking. I would relate the town to Park City or Sun Valley- very quant, little boutiques, tons of tourists and nature-istic. I love it there. Little did we know what we were getting ourselves into. We pulled into Tahoe City looking disgusting. No make up, travel hair and sweats. So, we quickly made a pit stop and tried to make ourselves somewhat presentable. We ran into some pretty crazy/interesting people. One of my hobbies.... People watching. I could spend hours doing it. Anyway, we decided to take a little walk up and down main street and ended up meeting a running into our friend's little brother at the Marina. What a small, small world. He took us out on the Lake for a insanely gorgeous boat ride. We ended our adventure finishing with a delicious dinner at a restaurant on the lake. Now, I can explain the matching sweat shirts. When we showed up in Tahoe we get out of our car and nearly froze. We look around and notice people are in parka's. ha. Believe it or not, it actually snowed the day before. Yikes! It is the middle of August, for crying out loud. So, my mom and I went into the first store we saw and bought a sweatshirt to keep us warm. Thank goodness because it was freezing. We left Tahoe way too late and didn't end up arriving in Modesto until 1:00 in the morning. However, all 16 hours of our trip was worth it. I was so luck to spend it with my mom. I adore my mother and am thankful for all she has done for me. I couldn't ask for a better mother, best friend, example or listener. She is my everything. We had such a nice trip down together. And it was horrible to say goodbye to her at the end of it all. She has given me the world and more- and I am forever grateful for the countless things she does for me on a daily basis. Yes, we are best friends and always will be. I miss her and my family so much. It is such an amazing growing experience living away from home; I have learned so much about myself. Not only that, I have realized just how much my family means to me. I am a very lucky girl. And I sincerely mean that. Each one of my brothers has shaped me into the the person I am today- without them I would be nothing but a "sassy" little sister. As for my dad? Words cannot describe my love for him. Such a hero in my life. There isn't a day that passes by that I am not humbled by how fortunate I am. He has "spoiled me rotten" and has treated me as though I am a princess. I owe him everything in return. I just noticed this post about Lake Tahoe suddenly turned into me expressing my love for my family. I guess its because I just barely moved out again, and they are fresh on mind. I miss them dearly and send them infinite x's and o's. As for the picture on the left? It is what I would call an out of shape arabesque. Good thing I am back dancing my little heart out again!
